The Smart Alarm will work with Gen 2 devices because it lives in the software side of things. It works by asking the Accelerometer (a sensor that measures movement) if the person is moving and therefore Awake. It if does not sense movement it will keep firing the Alarm. The Accelerometer is the same in both Gen 2 and Gen 3 Pavloks.
