Zap Strength
All Pavlok devices except the Pavlok Ring have the same zap strength.
Shock Clock MAX includes Zap Boost, which delivers multiple continuous zaps for a stronger sensation.
Note: The Pavlok Ring does not have a zap or alarm feature.
Manual Zap Activation
Pavlok 3/ Shock Clock 3: Press the middle button → brief vibration → amber LEDs → zap.
Shock Clock MAX: Press the middle button → zap immediately.
Pavlok 2/ Shock Clock 2: Press and release the lightning bolt → brief vibration → yellow LEDs → red LEDs → zap.
Note: The Pavlok/Shock Clock 2 and 3 have a minimum 500ms delay before delivering a zap, designed to prevent accidental shocks through the USB port. Additionally, there’s a random 0–1000ms delay when a zap is manually triggered via the button. This makes the zap less predictable, which can increase its psychological impact. This random delay is not applied to alarms, where precise timing is needed.
Is the Zap Safe?
Yes! Pavlok’s zap is safe, effective, and painless. You can adjust the intensity in the app if you want it weaker or stronger. The circuit completes on your skin, but the voltage and amperage are not enough to cause harm.
What the Zap Feels Like
The zap can feel like:
A friend flicking you with their fingernail at high speed, or
A static shock you get when touching a doorknob after rubbing your feet on the carpet.
The stimulus is designed to be uncomfortable enough to get your attention, but not painful. Pavlok devices are CE/FCC certified, and with over 100,000 users, the zap has been proven safe and effective.
